The UAV and Robotics Platform (URP) is designed to meet typical processing requirements encountered when designing robotics and UAV applications. It is a Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ based platform and therefore has a broad spectrum of processing capabilities. The board combines a small form factor with integrated functionalities of sensors-on-board, software and FPGA logic. With its motor control units, position sensors, obstacle detection interfaces and communication resources the URP can be used for many applications.
The UAV and Robotics Platform is a highly integrated solution. It is reliable, powerful and adaptable. The platform consists of a processing board with integrated and versatile sensors, Linux based software stack, FPGA reference design and a comprehensive user application. It supports autopilot integration and interfaces with the Robot OS. All sensors required for autonomous operation are integrated on the board. Additional functionalities, like ultrasound and radar/lidar type of sensors, can be integrated easily. Extending the board with other processor boards is also relatively easy due to the high-performance board-to-board connectivity. Software defined radio and other desired features can also be integrated easily. For example, on-chip 4K video stream capture, manipulation and H264/265 compression are ready to use.
The URP board is developed in close collaboration with Xilinx as a commercial end-product or as a development kit for rapid prototyping. The board supports the ZU4/5/7 variants of the Zynq Ultrascale+ family of Xilinx System-on-Chips.
